As disgusted as most Americans are with the dysfunction on display in Washington D.C. it is nothing compared with the observations of our trade partners overseas. Having long been the leaders of ‘democratic capitalism’ in the world and encouraging other countries to follow a similar path our government is highlighting the seedy underbelly of our democratic system—partisan posturing combined with fighting within parties to the point of complete dysfunction.
